I am Rick Murray, the owner of NICE Site Design, LLC. I got into web design almost by accident. My father-in-law, an Iowa State engineering professor, thought I might enjoy web development because I loved creative work and problem solving. He was right.

I spent countless evenings teaching myself HTML and web design, eventually returning to college at night to expand my skills. In 2002, I landed my first web design job at the Globe Gazette in Mason City, where I designed websites, banners, logos, and online advertising for local businesses.

In 2004, I started NICE Site Design as a side business. More than twenty years later, I'm still doing what I enjoy most—helping businesses, churches, organizations, and communities create websites that are attractive, easy to use, and built around their goals.

Today, I work as a front-end web developer for a state agency in Iowa while continuing to operate NICE Site Design, serving clients throughout Ames, Des Moines, and Central Iowa.

I've worked with many different platforms over the years, including custom HTML/CSS websites, WordPress, SharePoint, WIX, Shopify, and other content management systems. More importantly, I've learned that every client is different. Some want complete control of their website, while others simply want someone they trust to help guide the process.

My business has always grown through word of mouth and repeat customers. I'm grateful for the trust people have placed in me over the years, and I hope I can earn yours too.
