Mason City--What began as more of a
"necessity" upon Moorman Clothier's opening ten years
ago, has expanded to become a very important aspect of
the overall business.
"The Formal Wear side has really turned into a big
part of our business," said Scott Moorman. And,
according to Moorman, it's not just weddings and proms
that generate the need for tuxedos. "Cruises, Black-tie
event, you name it, " he said.
The store takes great pride in "making each tuxedo
work for the customer." He said, "If we need to adjust
something, we can do it right away so that they can take
it home fitting well and looking as it should."
Top names in Formal Wear for rental from Moorman
Clothiers include Claiborne 2.0, Chaps Ralph Lauren,
Perry Ellis, Oscar de la Renta, Raffinati, Pierre
Cardin, Andrew Fezza and Philip Stuart. "We definitely
have the best selection," he said.
"In addition, we stock approximately fifty basic
black tuxedos for our customers that need one
immediately," Moorman said. He added that with all of
the Formal Wear companies, overnight delivery is an
option, with second day a standard.
With the prom season gearing up, Moorman and the
staff at Moorman Clothiers look forward to working with
the youth of North Iowa. "It is really nice to see a lot
of the younger kids, and to get a chance to work with
them. We know going into it that these are the same
people that will be our future customers and we keep
that in mind when serving them."
The in-store tailoring is also a very important
feature of the Moorman Clothier's Formal Wear business.
"We look at ourselves as professionals, and we know
about fitting. . .how to measure and do alterations. .
.so the customer will look their best at their event,"
Moorman said. Wedding rentals include an ongoing
special that with the rental of six tuxedos, the groom's
ensemble is FREE.

as well as attendants and monogrammed pieces ranging
